From this.......

Ok I have got to get busy painting.  This is my next piece to re-purpose.  It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to put on it.  I'm hoping to get it done quickly so I can get it on my etsy for Christmas.  Work got really busy and I have been putting in some over time which was badly needed.  It should slow back down now.  Anyway,  I'll leave you with your minds turning.

A few tips

My brother has recently passed a few brush cleaning tips along to me.  The first is a cleaning tip.  He uses Fels Naptha to clean his brushes.  You can find this in the laundry detergent section in the grocery store.  It comes in the form of a bar.  After you are finished painting rub the brush across the bar a few times, then swish in some water, repeat until brush is clean.  He also suggests using Masters brush cleaner after this to condition your brushes but it is not necessary as the Masters can be quite expensive.  Now for my tip.  He said to always dry your brushes with the ferrule down so water doesn't collect (which until talking with him I've never done).  So my idea is to take a coat hanger and clothes pins and after each brush is cleaned simply clip by the handle to the hanger to dry.  You could fit several on one hanger.

Hope everyone has had a great weekend!

November is upon us.

This year has surely flown by. November already and Thanksgiving is well on it's way. Then Christmas. Whew it's a whirlwind for sure. If you scroll down and look at my earlier posts you will see a photo of my kitchen counter full of "in progress" stuff. Well, it's all been painted up and listed on my Etsy site. I add a few photos at the end of this post. I have an interview tomorrow for a part time job that will last through Christmas. It is going to make for some burning of the midnight oil but I need the extra income. So I will work my full time job and permitting I get the 2nd job then it will be home to paint or bake, which is a new venture I will talk more about in another post. It is almost time for bed so I will post a few photos and talk with you soon.
